On the 8th of December, Hello Trust Shenzhen hosted a Bake Sale within the school’s Terrace, donating all revenue to charity.

We sold oreo cheesecake cups, tiramisu cups, strawberry milk, assorted drinks, snowflake crisps, and chocolate chip cookies. These products were all meticulously handmade by different Hello Trust volunteers, tried and approved by Harrow Shenzhen’s senior staff. When this event was announced in the Upper School assembly the week before, there was much excitement, buzzing across the campus.

A group of eighteen dedicated students (along with teachers and performers) spent their Monday lunch break writing slips, collecting payments and distributing items. Potential customers first went to the front of the Terrace, paying for their products in the list given by the organizers. These prices were intentionally created to be as accessible and affordable as possible for the pupils, allowing the student body to both contribute to a greater cause and enjoy a sweet treat.

After they had made their contribution, volunteers wrote out their order on slips of paper and handed them to the pupil. On these slips of paper were specific abbreviations for each different product and were recognized by each stall.

These slips, after being marked as completed by helpers, were thrown into sustainability bins. This facilitated a journey to the greater good not just through direct donations, but by further shaping Harrow’s sustainability initiative, brought into full swing this academic year. A poignant step in Hello Trust’s mission, this exemplified crossing boundaries between different global issues and the actions we take to resolve them.

Throughout the event, we relished in powerful, soulful performances by student and staff, including Mr. Ng, the host of Harrow Cantopop and Ms. Lin, an University Guidance Counsellor.

Overall, this event was a significant success, raising thousands of RMB. The vast majority of drinks (including all assorted beverages) and oreo cheese cups were rapidly sold out, whilst stocks dwindled for others. Whispered delight and exclamations were rampant throughout the school during lunchtime, and, like staff, students loved the taste of the items.

When empowering youth, uplifting lives, inspiring change, Hello Trust shines brighter and ever, so let us look forward to the next event, the next success, and the next stage in fulfilling our mission at Inspire Me Festival 2026!
