On November 18, 2023, a small group of founding members of HELLO Trust was invited to visit an educational support foundation for children in Shenzhen, China. This simple yet meaningful visit became an important stepping stone for HELLO Trust’s Shenzhen branch, strengthening our commitment to educational equity and community service.

During the visit, our team had the opportunity to meet dedicated educators, volunteers, and young learners whose determination and resilience left a lasting impression on us. We observed first-hand the challenges faced by underprivileged children in accessing consistent educational support, as well as the transformative impact that guidance, mentorship, and resources can have on their growth and confidence.
The experience deepened HELLO Trust’s understanding of the local community’s needs and reinforced our belief that education is one of the most powerful tools for creating long-term, sustainable change. Meaningful conversations with foundation staff and volunteers allowed us to exchange ideas on how youth-led organisations like HELLO Trust can contribute through mentorship, leadership programmes, and collaborative initiatives.

More importantly, this visit helped shape the early direction of HELLO Trust’s Shenzhen branch. It inspired us to strengthen our focus on supporting children through educational outreach, community engagement, and awareness efforts, while building partnerships with organisations that share our vision of empowering the next generation.
What began as a modest visit became a moment of reflection and purpose. It reminded us that lasting impact often starts with simple steps — listening, learning, and connecting with the communities we aim to serve.
HELLO Trust remains grateful for the warm welcome we received and looks forward to continuing our efforts to support children, expand opportunities, and contribute to a more inclusive and hopeful future.
